So this is definitely part of the adaptation for guitar thing (in terms of all things Partimento.)
Two things:
This will seem like chord inversions (but try not to think of these as inversions)
This does result in some duplicates from the SMALL 3-note chords we already have (try not to think of them as duplicates, more like another name for the same voicing)
That being said:
This is really super duper useful in terms of maneuvering around the fretboard between all the previous stuff
What we're doing is taking the roots from the SMALL 3-note chords and displacing them upwards one octave (yep, that's an inversion, I know -- trust me on this one :)
